ATL survey results: Balancing security, productivity, & collaboration

Why smaller firms face a bigger dilemma

Many small and mid-sized firms feel overshadowed by client perceptions that larger firms are more secure. How can they overcome this disadvantage and realize the tangible business benefits of a strong security posture?

What is the security dilemma and how can law firms tackle it?

In a recent survey by iManage and Above the Law (ATL), firms of all sizes showed consensus that an advanced security posture is a competitive advantage.

In fact,  nearly one-third of those surveyed state their clients have become more focused on the law firm’s ability to demonstrate strong security policy and a good track record of keeping client data safe since the pandemic. But respondents also expressed that larger firms tend to accrue this advantage by default, whereas small and midsize firms must provide clients with hard evidence.

So, where does this leave smaller firms? And how can they fill the ongoing need for stepped-up security measures without exacting a price in productivity and collaboration?
