In collaboration with an advisory board of your peers, we will use a variety of formats –workshops, outside industry expert “TED Talks,” peer sharing, and group discussions to explore a variety of themes.

We want to embrace a diversity of thought in the topics and bring everyone together because we believe that to truly address these issues requires a cross-functional strategy.

A unique hallmark of LITLS is that the event agenda and structure is developed with an Advisory Board of CIOs, CKO, and Innovation Officers from the G100.  Guided by this advisory board of your peers, we ensure topics are relevant as we engage in workshops, peer sharing, and group discussions.

Findings and outputs of the event will be collated, developed into appropriate guides, and distributed to attendees after the event.

Please fill out the form to reserve your seat.

LITLS DAY 1

Topic 1:

Building a better understanding of the AI landscape: From hype to what's possible.

Overview:  Generative AI has clearly made an impression on the world in the past few months with the availability of large language models, but how AI can be transformative for the legal profession has been a question legal leaders have been struggling with for some time. The technology offers significant potential but what are the use cases where the technology will benefit in an industry dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information which requires a high level of rigor?  How do you ensure that the technology can be used safely without introducing new risks?

Session 1:

Navigating the AI landscape and stakeholder conversations

Join us for a keynote presentation highlighting how to discuss with partners and others in the firm, the hype, capabilities, risks, impact, and ethical considerations of applying AI to real-world use cases.

Session 2:

How is AI-enabled tech positioned to shape the future of legal firms?

During this roundtable session, attendees will choose from one of 6 AI-related topics on how the emergence of generative AI is impacting the modern law firm. Sample topics include the top use cases and successes, business and service delivery implications, skillsets required for success, and selecting the best tech partners.  Each group will present and invite questions from the audience, which always brings about lively conversation and idea-sharing.

Topic 2:

Supporting lawyers in the hybrid world: Impactful, technology-enabled practices that reduce friction.

Overview: It’s no longer a question of whether tech will change the legal industry — most firms have already pivoted to take advantage of some tech benefits for the hybrid work model.  It’s really a question of how to make the lawyers’ experience using tech better – more fluid and simpler.  To what extent do you accommodate unique requirements for each user or practice?  How do you make build vs buy decisions?  How do you improve adoption of new, better ways of working?

Session 1:

Session 1: Where should legal leaders focus when introducing technology to reduce friction?

Join us for an interactive discussion with your peers starting with a discussion around common challenges that drive complexity and friction in the lawyer’s workflow. Time will be spent discussing how to balance the desire for simplicity and ease of use with the demands and requirements of end users who also want flexibility.

Session 2:

Addressing the friction in the workflow

During this session participants will break out into one of two groups; Infrastructure and core service enablement and Focusing on lawyer workflows, to discuss what common drivers and processes are causing friction and lost productivity across law firms and share learnings, tips and best practices to address these common issues.

LITLS DAY 2

Topic 3:

Getting there:  Key elements to drive organizational change

Overview: Now more than ever law firm leaders are faced with hybrid working models, increased pressure from clients and higher expectation for efficiency from leveraging technology. In legal, leaders need to deftly honour tradition and strive for change without disrupting an inherently delicate balance between technological progress and complex business dynamics. How can you be intentional in your efforts to equip your organization with the mindset, skills, processes, and experience to thrive in the new world where technology will undoubtedly have a significant impact on attracting and retaining top talent and equipping them to do their best work.

Session 1:

Introducing a disciplined and human approach to change management

Our topic keynote will explore the common human (psychological) approach to change and how to support your community through effective change as well as a pragmatic 6-step strategy for developing and driving organizational change in a law firm.

Session 2:

Seeing this in action: Fireside chat

During this session participants will discuss and share with a panel of peers, experiences in driving change in large law firms.  Sharing experiences and best practise is the hallmark of LITLS, so you don’t want to miss this collaborative idea-generating closing session.
